Can I tell you how crazy it is to be holding your brand new baby #3 and remembering what it was like to hold your first little one... and then to realize that your baby #1 JUST TURNED FIVE YEARS OLD?!?!? I think it kind of weirds out some of the people in Q's department as well. I mean, they started the program before she was even born -- and they are still plugging along as she nears kindergarten!
L has been so excited for this birthday. She talked a lot about how exciting it was going to be to come down and have everything decorated. So, as not to disappoint, all of the birthday decorations from birthdays past were pulled out and reused to get the house looking festive. Q and C even filled the floor with balloons.
The birthday girl requested cinnamon rolls and bacon -- what better way to start your special day?
And check this out -- barely five and already getting flowers from a boy. Shesh! Noah knew that she was into roses because at her preschool they made her a HUGE tissue paper rose for her birthday. So he and his mom stopped by with some flowers. Too cute -- he is very sweet and they adore each other. This is the boy that his mom asked what religion we were because her son had told her that he was going to marry L in the temple and she was curious what kind of temple that would be.The Farleys surprised L by joining us for her bday lunch at the Olive Garden (we had a gift card and I convinced her that the Olive Garden is just as cool as Bravo!... so not true). It was a bit crazy all around -- next time we'll just order pizza. But she was happy and even more excited to find that we were heading to the Farley's house to watch her new Dora movie on the big screen (while the adults played the Wii).
After her favorite dinner of Green Chicken (Chicken Saag), our neighbors brought over a cake... it matched the bday theme of roses and was delicious. She was quite satisfied with her day and asked when she could celebrate her next one.
