This week strawberries were as cheap in the store as they would be if you picked them from one of the local farms. So I purchased about 6lbs and we went to work making freezer jam. L was my strawberry washer and stirer (a very important step in the process). We now have tons of jam and only 2 shirts in the washer with bright red stains.

Great idea! Maybe I'll call you for your freezer jam recipe next time strawberries go on sale here. It sounds delicious. I don't know if I'll trust Cole to "help" just yet though--I suspect we'd have many more than two shirts stained in the washer. :)
Thanks for the stirring strawberries tip. Ellie and I made jam today and she loved "helping" -- and I loved that she wasn't too sticky.
