I'm trying to break the vacation run-down up for everyone, but this is going to be a long one (or at least a lot of pics/videos). And I can't promise the next ones will be any shorter!
My parents thought it would be fun to bring a waterpark to the kids instead of dragging everyone to a busy place. So we had our own little party in my parents back yard. It was a riot. My favorite part was was when the air got cut off and my mom found herself and the kids sinking into the middle of a collapsing mess -- it was great watching the struggle to get out.
The trip was of course a time to bond with cousins (well, cousin to be correct, but we include the 1st cousins once removed and 2nd cousins in there)
C doesn't get to hang around older boys very often and he has formed an intense adoration for this cousin (the few boys in the family have to stick together). Luckily his older cousin is a great sport and not only lets him tag along, but enjoys entertaining him!
L is blessed with an abundance of cousins to play with any time the extended family gets together.
Their only 1st cousin got a lot of quality time thanks to my sister who was willing to make the drive fairly frequently. These two look ages apart, but really there is only a 6 month difference. They teased each other to no end and then cried for each other when they weren't together.
I had to include this outfit -- L really wanted shoes for Bear so my mom made them matching shoes and headbands. I laughed out loud as I felt transported back to the 80's.
Because the big water toy was just a rental, we got a kiddie pool to cool things off and L learned a lesson from her aunt about you get back what you dish out.
My parents had recently done some remodeling and saved the boxes. The fort (which included flags, rose petal carpet, windows, and spraypainted decorations) was quite the project for them and got pulled out a couple of times during the stay there.
Our first of 2 kayaking adventures was in Bountiful Pond and was a fun little row around a nature preserve. The kids thought it was hillarious to throw out the paddles -- luckily neither one was rowing with me!
As you can imagine, we had to have a lot of rest time as well. My favorite place was in one of the hammocks, but the kids found whatever spot was available when they just ran out of energy.

That is such a cute picture of your girl under the swing. Oh to be young again. She looks so much like you. Cute as can be. Congrats on #3.
I can't believe how big the kids are getting. We miss you guys. You should totally move to CO when u are done with school. -Kristin
